Well hello everyone! I hope you all had as much fun this weekend as I did. My SHSU Bearkats went deep into Aggieland to play TAMU this past Saturday and although we did not come home with a W, I certainly feel like I won the weekend! So time to link it up!
It all started by heading out to Midnight Yell Practice Friday Night. Now for those you that don't know about this tradition...I highly suggest you check it out. I feel like I should take this opportunity to point out that I am, by no means, an Aggie Fan...but working in sports, you learn to appreciate unique traditions, and this is certainly one of those.
The tradition goes: "Cheerleaders Yell
leaders lead the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band and the Twelfth Man into the stadium. The yell
leaders lead the crowd in old army yells, the singing of the fight song, and tell fables
of how the Aggies are going to beat the everlivin' hell out of our opponent for the next
day. Lastly, the lights go out, and Aggies kiss their dates. If they don't have a date,
all they have to do is flick their Bicks. As the story goes, the flames make it easier for
two dateless people to find each other, and maybe they won't be dateless anymore!"
So what did I learn at Yell Practice?
1. Rice Stadium is not the only place with bats
2. Yell Leaders don't know how to do real pushups
3. College Station has a lot of Fighting Farmers, and I never once saw a pitch fork
4. Aggie Fans have made swaying an art
5. ALWAYS bring a date or a lighter!

And then came Saturday GAME DAY!!!
Even though it rained, and we didn't win...I would say it was a pretty fun time! I mean did you see my awesome game day dress?! Plus, any weekend that ends with me introducing Hannah to this movie
Can easily be put into the WIN folder!
